About my professional orientation...

Hello. I am Mikayel Kamendatyan, a ninth grader with dreams and goals for my future. I would like to start with the following…
I had studied in Pushkin's school for full 6 years. That school gave me perfect academic knowledge, but the pity thing was that they show little concern to creativity and students’ proactive thinking. That's why my mother decided to change my school, so I moved to MSEC. The school choice stopped on MSEC, because this school is a stage of creativity, renewable thinking and fresh ideas- an alternative school. The funny thing is, that there are no paper books, notebooks and strict teachers; a laptop or tablet instead.
I am interested in natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, geography, astrology), so I chose physics as extracurricular discipline. After a month of lessons our physics club was closed, an Eco-club came instead, and I was suggested to join. I joined and continued my extra-curricular activities.  It was of my interest, because we watched a lot of environmental films and videos, discussed lots of topics and tried to solve some local eco problems. We were a success.
My teachers of natural sciences are very competent in eco sciences, so they motivated me to continue my eco activities and go deep in this field.
There are a lot of sciences connected to our environment, they do a lot to keep in balance our nature, flora and fauna. The most of them are: Environmental biology, Biotechnology, Environmental engineering, Environmental chemistry, Environmental physics and environmental geosciences.
Saving our environment isn't just throwing away some trash or breaking a branch, it is much deeper. Let's take example- waste water. To be cleaned, it needs some stages; mechanical, biological and chemical. Special sciences deal with eco problems, so saving the environment is not only the concern of  Green Peace or Army of Greens.
There are some eco problems that bother me most, because I firstly want to save my local area. Food crisis, air pollution, water pollution, non-renewable energy sources, climate change and non-proper waste recycling are most sensible.
Among the above mentioned sciences I have chosen Environmental Engineering as my future profession. Environmental engineering is the branch of engineering related to application of scientific and engineering principles to protection of environment from the adverse effects of human activity: waste of drinking water resources, air pollution, water pollution, hard waste . Environmental engineering can also be described as a branch of applied science and technology that addresses the issues of energy preservation, production limits and control of waste. Furthermore, it deals with:
- finding plausible solutions to the problems influence public health, such as waterborne diseases;
- implementing laws which promote adequate sanitation in urban, rural and recreational areas (it involves waste water management, air pollution control, recycling, waste disposal, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, environmental sustainability, public health and environmental engineering).

I highlight some areas worth environmentalists’ attention: my region Yerevan and nearby places have problems with aeration i.e. waste water recycling; also there is a big problem with Nubarashen garbage and waste recycling center: no modern technology is used when disposing the hard waste (the only way to get free of it is burning). Though there is a lot of money invested for improving this ecological awful situation, we have what we have. I want to become a pro in this field to improve and raise the level of my local and regional environment, then to pay attention and try to solve global problems. Armenia needs environmental engineers, and unfortunately the universities and higher education colleges don’t have relevant departments. I want to join UWC, it will allow me to get International Baccalaureate in high educational college, so I can apply to universities abroad and take exams for joining and getting my master degree.
